Last minute
UUASC doesn't often change speakers, but today I could get my talk in about updating or go to Dan Kegel's in Pasadena. One is close, the other far, but I am going to learn something.

Sorry it turned out that you didn't learn anything, as you ended up not going to hear the talk nor present your own.
You should have volunteered to talk by posting to the UUASC list. Had you done that, then I would have made a formal announcement that you would be speaking and that the meeting was still on, and then a lot of people would show up to hear you.
But, there is no way I am going to let you talk to a room of 5 or 6 people. For one thing, it wouldn't be fair to those who didn't show up. In other words, only those who didn't read their emails get to hear a talk? Not right.
