Shifting European boarders 10000 years

I really hope that this increases the sales of CENTENNIA Historical Atlas, they did a really cool mesh up of the boarders.
12/2010: Update: Video got removed, as I suspected it would, funny how that works, although I suspect that it made more people aware of the cool product they have, so it was in a way free advertising for Centennia.
I went to a 6 hour job interview and just hanging out session yesterday afternoon/night, missed my Coloft pitch session, a bit disappointed by that part of it. Now that I realize there was a $5500 prize for the winner.

Waafa Bilal is raising awareness about the Iraq war by doing some outragous performance art.

Wow, might I see 300GHz graphene nanocircuits processors with racetrack memory which promises to be 100,000 times faster then today's hard drive someday? I guess that is why I need that gigabit to the home. This al seems incredible to me until I think what I started with a Zilog Z80 @ 1.78 MHz with 4K RAM and a cassette interface,25 bytes per second.  Of course this $600 computer in 1977 was certainly in improvement in price and performance over previous models.

Android 250 down 25/month

I was waiting for this, would like to know the coverage of Sprint in El Segundo, but it is an awesome deal.

Microsoft undergroundPDC

Went to the Nokia Club last night for the Windows Phone 7 event and Azure, they fed us and gave us open bar, a few Windows phones were raffled off, but only a few, it was a bit boring, to be honest, not the excitement of open source or Apple events.  I was however sorry not to have won a phone, would love to play with one. I guess that sales of 40K show that the rest of the world is also disinterested in WP7. Anyhow it was a good meetup with lots of people, although I find it interesting how few I know from these events. SCALE is far more interesting then these PDC events. I bet if MS got the SCALE organizers on board, they would put up a better show then last night. Dan'l Lewin and Blake from Yahoo had a talk about startups, Daniel Egan was there again to push WP7 and ran into Chao and Woody as usual at MS events.

Skype 5 Beta OS X

I use Skype all the time was excited to hear about a new version. Skype 5 Beta OS X isn't as great as the version numbers would indicate, I had 2.8 OS X and decided to try the newest and I have to say that so far I am disappointed. The old design with searchable contacts and history just worked well for me, I was used to it, smaller space on the screen. The only cool feature, the multi person video seems like it is only free for 30 days and I haven't even been able to find 2 people willing to try it with me, so afraid I might run out of time befoe I even use it. I may just downgrade to 2.8 after the 28 days I have left in the multivideo thing expire.

So after playing with Skype 5 beta OS X for 2 days, I have downgraded to 2.8 again as I miss its better user interface, screen sharing and smaller screen size.  I was never able to get the 28 video conferencing demo working, and besides if it is time limited, it doesn't do me much good anyhow.

Meraki

I have been testing wireless these days, it is pretty cool what you can do with the Meraki's and the control panels they have. However the back end is strangely unstable as of yet, but we are still working with that part.
